HEBREW BIBLE.

/

RIGHTS, WRONGS, & WHYS

Jewish custom separates the first five books of the Hebrew Bible (often called the Torah) into weekly sections. Jews read one section (often called a parshah) of the biblical text per week along with its commentary, so that by the end of the year the entire Torah is completed and ready to restart for the next year.

Each week, I will post my own commentary on the Torah reading and rabbinical commentary for the week. My reference text is the Artscroll Stone Edition Chumash*,  which is the source widely used by Orthodox Judaism. It gives the most thorough explanations of the rabbinical discussions about each parshah.
